Just One of Thousands

Once again, the 2.5 hour drive up to Portland from Roseburg is worth every cent, every ounce of gasoline. Amazing weekend in the city: From eating Moroccan food to getting beat by Audrey at tennis. From watching the above birds do their yearly migratory dance at sunset to seeing Weinland play a few blocks from our house.

Back south to Gallbladder Land. Next time I am going to keep heading south, until I hit the border of Old Mexico. Then I will go back north a few miles and plant myself within sight of the sea and start treating people with medicine, instead of just yanking body parts out of small holes.

  1. La Jolla will be a great rotation but seeing those green gallbladders and practically taking them out yourself made it worthwhile!

  2. Just for the record, Chip did beat me once too. But, I start tennis lessons next week, and then...no more winning for you my friend. :) It was an awesome weekend, eh? You didn't even mention the "cupping" at Stumptown and seeing "Up" in the theater! Thanks for the adventures...

  3. Bring on the tennis...My underhand serve has been clocked at a frightening 8 miles per hour!!!

Thanks for the link...How was Weinland? Ironically, I have just gotten into them and they are on my radar for an upcoming 'Du Indie Music' post!

  4. Weinland was good, very entertaining frontman. Solid mandolin, accordion, and vocals. Audrey was unimpressed, but she was focused on her tennis game at the time, trying to talk trash like Serena. We are going to try to see The Builders and the Butchers along with Blind Pilot this coming weekend, part of MFNW. Look it up!

  5. Oh my- Derek, if we are still in Portland next year at this time you MUST come for music fest NW. I will pay for your plane ticket. How long does it go on, Chip?

  6. Sept. 16th-20th. How about we buy his *concert* ticket and he buys the *plane* ticket?
