Welcome to the Clinical Rotation Blog

I will be updating this blog throughout my upcoming clinical rotations, as a way to stay connected with friends, family, and other PA students. I hope to post photos, stories, cases, and other random things that I encounter over the next 15 months. I'd love to hear from all of you, so stay in touch, either via the "comments" section, or by email.

Last week, I found out the first three rotations that I will have. Looks like I will get to stay in the Northwest for the summer. You will find my updated Rotation List in the right column. However, because it is exciting to get the first couple rotations assigned, let me expand on them a bit.

Rotation One: Whidbey Island, WA. Follow the Strait of Juan de Fuca inland from the Pacific and you will run right into this island. Depending on how hard you hit, you may end up in the ER there. That's where I will be. 3 1/2 hours from Portland with the ferry ride. This might be one of the rotations that Audrey and Kessler will come visit me, instead of viceversa, as there will be plenty of "islandy" things to do this summer.

Rotation Two: Federal Prison. This will NOT be a rotation that Audrey and Kessler come to visit me. I will commute 1 1/2 hours to the prison from Portland.

Rotation Three: Surgery! In Roseburg, OR. Don't know much about Roseburg. Don't know much about surgery. This is the rotation to find out more about both.

We have just Emergency Medicine and Surgery modules left, after spring break. I am going to attempt a strong finish to the didactic year, and will likely have my head buried in a book for the next month. However, I will update the list and blog as I find out more clinical sites. Thanks for reading!
